Richard Meadows, DO graduated from Stoco High School and began his collegiate career at Beckley College. He later transferred to Concord College (now University) and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He returned to Beckley College as a Business instructor. While in this capacity, he earned his MBA from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies (now Marshall University Graduate College). He became the controller for a company that designed and built coal preparation plants, and was later promoted to corporate treasurer. When the coal industry declined he returned to school to prepare for application and admission to medical school.
As senior resident at Raleigh General Hospital, Dr. Meadows was awarded the ACOFP Resident with a scholarship to the ACOFP national conference in Las Vegas. He has previously been recognized as the Register-Herald’s Readers’ Choice Family Physician.
Dr. Meadows and his wife have been married for 39 years and are the parents of two children who are both Osteopathic physicians.
